IssieSign 2.2

IssieSign is an application that offers a straightforward solution for introducing and teaching signs and gestures through a thoughtfully designed and customizable library. Developed in collaboration with The Technology Center of Beit Issie Shapiro and SAP Labs Israel, IssieSign features a user-friendly design tailored for seamless access and navigation, catering to individuals with motor or intellectual challenges. This tool serves as a significant communication aid, facilitating more efficient self-expression for those with complex communication needs.

Designed to address specific requirements identified through Beit Issie Shapiro's work with individuals with disabilities, IssieSign is part of a series of applications aimed at enhancing participation and quality of life.

IssieSign offers two versions:

1. My IssieSign:
   • Allows users to create their own sign language library with unique features such as a clear and intuitive video library platform.
   • Utilizes the ARASAAC symbol set for pairing symbols with videos.
   • Enables easy video categorization and sharing with others.
   • Facilitates app content backup in Google Drive.
2. IssieSign for Hebrew Speakers:
   • An educational tool focusing on basic vocabulary in Israeli Sign Language (ISL) for expressing needs and ideas.
   • Offers over 800 instructional videos, each presenting signs alongside spoken and written words, accompanied by SymbolStix symbols.
   • Caters to preschool and elementary-aged children with categorized vocabulary organized for recognition and efficiency.
   • Structures videos based on language development stages, featuring words in one-word and two-word formats for enhanced learning.
   • Provides options to customize content, add categories, videos, and share resources.

The Technology Center at Beit Issie Shapiro plays a vital role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the Assistive Technology (AT) field, striving to offer more accessible solutions for individuals with disabilities. Through consultancy, training services, and support for developers and entrepreneurs, the center promotes the creation of inclusive products catered to a diverse audience, including those with disabilities.
